Hit in a car park – did they leave a note?
This Vauxhall Zafira was hit in a car park whilst the owner was voting in the local council elections! Luckily the person who caused the damage left a note. So we could help with repairs to the front bumper and front headlight. We repaired and painted the front bumper and fitted a new driver-side headlight before handing it back to the grateful owner.
Hit in a car park – and they left a note?
If your car has been hit in a car park you may still be left to foot the bill of repairs. Even if it definitely wasn’t your fault. If the person who hits your car is decent enough to leave you a note that is great news. In order to make a non-fault claim with us at Non-Fault Car Accident Repair, we would need the name, address, registration number, and insurance details of the third party who is accepting liability. The benefit of using an accident management service means that you keep your no claims discount and therefore pay no excess fee with your own insurer.
Call us Monday to Friday between 9 am and 5 pm on 0800 059 0220 to discuss your claim or start the process online now.
Occasionally the third party might have left a note but may want to avoid using their insurers. If they are offering to pay for repairs we can provide an estimate at Car Magic and even deal with them directly if we have their information – removing the hassle for you.
Hit in a car park – and there’s no note?
If unlike the owner of this Vauxhall Zafira, you return to your car to find damage but no note then a non-fault accident claim may not be an option. Without an identified third party you are relying on witnesses, dashcam footage, or CCTV to pursue a non-fault claim. It’s not impossible but much more difficult to find the culprit and make a case against them.
You can make a claim on your own insurance for a non-fault claim if you have fully comprehensive insurance. Regardless of fault, you may find that your no claims bonus is affected by the claim. You will also have to pay a policy excess even if the claim wasn’t your fault in some cases. It’s therefore worth knowing how much the cost of repairs would be and whether to actually make a claim. If it’s minor it might be less than your excess fee. You still need to inform your insurer of any incidents with your vehicle. However, it may save you money in the long run.
