Rear End Collision Results In Major Repairs
This Citroen DS3 was involved in a rear end collision resulting in major repairs to the rear offside quarter panel, rear axle beam , rear panel and rear bumper. This involved our team carrying out welding in addition to fitting new parts and of course some precision-matched paintwork to return the rear end to a showroom finish.
Repairing a rear end collision
The first step with any repair is stripping down the car to check for other damage and get to work on fitting new parts where needed. We can see the extent of the repairs to be done from this shot where the offside rear has been cut away and the new rear panel is held in position with clamps before welding.
The Citroen is then lifted to allow our experts to start welding the new rear panel into place. It’s rare to see the underside of your own car and we’re sure you’ll agree there is a lot going on down there. In this picture the wheels are off for the rear axle to be replaced with a new one too.
With the structural repairs complete and the primer applied to the newly repair rear quarter panel, it’s time for the car to spend some time in our on-site oven.
